Chalet Schatzchischta: a name that says it all

The fully detached Chalet was once a simple Swiss block barn built of sun-burnished larch wood. It was used by farmers as a stable for cattle, a place to thresh grain and dry meat. These farmers stored their personal treasures in wooden chests – the little treasure chests or "Schatzchischta”.

A paradise on four floors

In 2011, we completely remodelled this Valais barn, investing lots of original ideas, a passion for details, and love for its Swiss origins. Downstairs, the new living area with its 19^th-century stone oven provides the perfect setting for cosy evenings around the crackling fire. The open-plan kitchen with its rustic dining area is the central meeting place on the ground level. And on the two upper floors, you and your loved ones will enjoy sweet dreams in the comfy king-sized beds. Each bedroom has its own bathroom with a shower or large corner bathtub.

Lovingly crafted details and luxurious furnishings make this exceptional chalet a real gem – with beautiful historic wood floors, traditional terracotta tiles, stone walls, antique furniture, door knobs made of Valais vine, a kitchen bench seat from an old monastery, and original decoration made of antique tools.

The kitchen boasts lots of natural light that flows in through the glass walls and floor. With its gas range, dishwasher, coffee maker, and washing machine, the kitchen is fully equipped for your convenience. Enjoy the morning sun and the view of the Mischabel mountain range from the two balconies. To make full use of the available space, we have integrated unusual solutions like a retractable wardrobe and an extra box fitting four pairs of skis. There’s quite a lot to discover at Chalet Schatzchischta!
